PROLONGED Extreme Dizziness

There were no indications that led me to believe I was ill. I felt fine, then boom. I turned from the kitchen sink and almost fell to the floor from the sudden onset of dizziness I crawled to the couch and was stuck there until the nausea kicked in, at which time I had to crawl to the bathroom where I stayed with unbelievable nausea to the point of having the dry heaves until the next a.m. I had to literally crawl to the door that morning to get to the car so that I could get to the doctor. When I got to the doctor they even had to send down a wheelchair to get me up to the office because I was so weak and dizzy. Trying to focus on ANYTHING made me feel worse and my visit with the doctor only sent me away with a precription of meclazine and a shot in the rear of phenegran to ease my symptoms of what she thought was an inner ear infection.
Now it’s three days later, no relief from the dizziness and feeling like things should be better by now. I’m getting impatient because there’s nothing else that’s bothering me. Appetite is back, no more nausea, thank goodness, but I’m homebound because I can hardly walk yet. How long can this be expected to last? Oh, something else was mentioned by a friend that sounded a bit far fetched, BUT, I’m grasping at any REAL GOOD excuse for this dizziness, was that it could be caused by a bacteria in cat box from when I scoope it every other day? Any clues as to whether THAT is possible?
