my 9 year old son has just come home from hospital but no one can determine what s wrong with him. He is a type 1 diabetic and haas celiac disease. On monday night he awoke not feeling well nad had a mild temp…i gave him ibuprofen…his sugar wen t high and woke up freaking out saying everything sounded too loud in his head. We assumed it was his high blood sugar but the next night it happened again and his sugar and temp were normal. During the day he was fine.
Then on wednesday night he woke saying things “looked small” and was really distressed. At school on Thursday he went to the playground and things “looked small” again so i took him tho the doc who could find nothing abnormal. We then went to visit his grandfather in hospital (3rd floor) and 10 minutes after the ride in the elevator he had another episode of thing slooking wrong. It lasted about 10 to 30 seconds at a time…every couple of minutes for about 10 minutes. We went downstairs to emergency (in the elevator again) and he had another episode about 20 mins later that lasted constantly for about 5 minutes at about 7pm. They admitted him and he went to sleep at around 11.30pm to awake hysterical at about 12.15 with another episode. He has not had another since.
He had a brainwave test (EEG) and ruled out epilepsy Still to have MRI and MRA but to me sounds not unlike vertigo We have had high winds which someone told me can have an effect?? as can ibuprofen?? has anyone had similar episodes??? it s so frustrating!!! Does vertigo tend to run in families??
