this is pure hell !!!

On March 23,2009 I woke up just like any other day and headed off to work. about two hours after i started my shift. i turn my head to reach for something and everything around me seemed to flip sideways for a few seconds.my natural reaction was to grab the counter to keep from falling. i shook my head and sat down for a while. After getting a drink of water i decided to walk around a bit but nothing seemed normal after that and i mean nothing!!
i felt like i was on a boat on the water and with the motion sickness came the nausea, even riding in a car felt unbelievably strange and forget driving myself because the slightest movement of my head made everything 10X worse!! I had my boyfriend take me to the ER where they ran some tests and all they could say was you have vertigo give it some time. they gave me medication for nausea and some miclizine (Which by the way dosent help it only makes you feel sleepy and more dizzy) After 48 hrs of laying around and sleeping alot (because that was my only relief)i went to my regular doctor who treated me for a sinus/inner ear infection. Even though tests were neg and i knew in my heart this was no bacterial infection i still took the medication anyway. So i went back home to my couch.
after another week still no change!! frustrated and always on the verge of tears, i went to an ENT specialist who then referred me to a neurologist and after another battery of tests came to the conclusion my vertigo was probably due to a virus and gave me 2mg diazepam 3X daily. he said 6-8 weeks and i should be ok. well thats just great, im at the mercy of this thing and the diazepam has done nothing but maybe keep me from going completely bonkers which believe me if this dosent go away may happen anyway!! My boyfriend cant hardly take it anymore Ive become depressed, I dont feel like being social, half the time i dont even want to eat! it takes all my energy just to get up and complete small tasks without wanting to lay back down. All i can think about is how can i go back to work? i have a very active/on your feet all the time job and not to mention i can barely concentrate i mean who could when you feel so unattached to the real world. My sympathy to all of you out there going through this,it is truly debilitating i would give anything for that one magic pill!!!!

This is pure hell! I have been suffering with vertigo attacks too. I have been diagnosed with Meniere's Disease. Vertigo is a major symptom!! Also...Read

My first attack hit 2 years ago in April. I had been painting my kitchen; walls, ceilings, etc. Then I started to feel just a little dizzy and thought it was the paint fumes. Disregarded that after talking with paint company. It got so bad that I couldn’t walk without hanging on to the walls.

I was waking up today and couldn’t focus my eyes…the room just kept sort of repeating; not the whole room spinning around me but just part of it, sort of like when you spin around a lot and stop. It would stop after about 5 min. I turned around in bed facing the other way and it started again.
