New in Town and New to Vertigo

March 7, 2009, I got my first vertigo spell, it lasted for more than 7 hrs, during which I was rushed to hospital emergency. Two weeks after first episode, I got the second one, went for walk came home and boom it started. for three hours in house I was throwing up and dizzy. my wife had to call 911 and they took me the emergencey again.. where i was just lying for 7 hrs .. a drip and nothing else. after showing some emotions to duty nurse, his highness doctor, came to see me and told me I am ok but when I told him that thats my second episode within 3 three weeks. he bluntly told me that is a brain tumor.
I felt so happy and relaxed, the way doctor told me I have brain tumor. Then asked me to book apptt for catscan. after my first attack, my PP sent me for stress test (cardiac) all sort of blood test. everything was fine .. as I have family history of heart problem.
After my catscan, no brain tumor was found and I was told that I have vertigo I asked what is the cause? dont know. it will go away? dont know. any permanent cure? dont know. is it really vertigo? dont know, I am sending to you to an ear specialist. after waiting for 15 days for my appointed on april 14 i got appoint booked on 2nd of JUNE 2009. aint that wonderful?? 45 days from now. life is beautiful. for last three days I am dizzy 24. light but continue. feel very very depressed. I am a new immigrant to canada. I have to work but with this condition i cant go out, i m too scared. dont knwo what to do

I too am suffering with vertigo for the first time, but not the severity of your spells. I would definitely see an ENT and ask for an evaluation for ...Read

My first attack hit 2 years ago in April. I had been painting my kitchen; walls, ceilings, etc. Then I started to feel just a little dizzy and thought it was the paint fumes. Disregarded that after talking with paint company. It got so bad that I couldn’t walk without hanging on to the walls.

I was waking up today and couldn’t focus my eyes…the room just kept sort of repeating; not the whole room spinning around me but just part of it, sort of like when you spin around a lot and stop. It would stop after about 5 min. I turned around in bed facing the other way and it started again.
