To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Beginning vertigo…. I am actually going to school to become a Hearing Instrument Specialist. I am in my second year out of a 3 year program. I’m confused why I have this problem as well. It started out the past couple weeks I thought I was getting an ear infection. I’d feel this sharp pain run through my ear canal to my ear lobe, usually out of no where. Then Tuesday morning I woke up feeling really dizzy. At first I thought I got up too fast, but it wouldn’t go away, so then I thought being a college student and all I’m not eating right and maybe my sugar’s low I’m not diabetic but it happens. So I got some juice, that didn’t help. So I thought maybe I need to eat, that didn’t help. I ended up spending the day in bed. Wed morning I woke up and it was still there thinking maybe I’m just coming down with the flu. It’s now friday and it hasn’t gone away but I have no flu symptoms either. I don’t get naseaus I just feel like I’m on a boat as well and the world is tilting. I asked my one of my teachers about it and all he could say was just go get a balance test done. The next thing I can suggest for people who only get it once in a while is maybe try keeping your potassium and sodium levels up, since that’s what the inner ear contains. If your potassium or sodium levels get low enough it can actually cause problems with your inner ear. Unfortunately they can’t do much research about the inner ear’s function of balance because in order to get there the researchers literally have to kill people or animals. That’s why there isn’t much information. I wish I had answers too because I am getting an understanding for how debilitating or irritating it can be. Comments
