I’ve read many of the experiences and stories that others have posted to this site, and I share many of the same symptoms. I believe that I have a pretty severe case of it. I was diagnosed with vertigo on Jan.23 of this year and now over six weeks later I still feel the same way, miserable. I was out of town for a business meeting when it hit me, right in the middle of the meeting. For some reason it went away in a couple of hours and I really didn’t know what had hit me. That evening I had dinner and drinks with my colleagues and felt great. The next morning when I woke up, I could barely walk, as everything around me was moving. I spoke to a co-worker about this and immediately went to an immediate care center, at which time I was diagnosed with vertigo. When I returned home I visited my family doctor who also said it was vertigo I was “constently” dizzy, unable to drive, and could barely walk. It’s now been six weeks, and I’ve had an MRI, CAT Scan, Hearing Test, and other less involved tests, and still nothing has been found. On 3/10 I will have an ENG and another Cat scan. When my ENT Doctor did the first CAT, it showed a severe sinus infection that he stated, by the looks of it, had been around for at least a month. This would date back to a little bit before I came down with the vertigo. I’ve been on antibiotics for 20 days now to fight the infection, but my vertigo is still the same. I was hoping that just maybe that’s what was causing it, but I guess not. I was out of work for the first 4 weeks that I had this. The first 2 weeks I was afraid to do anything, and the next two weeks I tried to learn to live with it a little better. I’m now driving to work and back, but limiting my hours there because I become fatigued very fast. Also, the more I move, the worse the vertigo gets. I read a story that someone else wrote and they explained that after driving in the car that they can barely walk. I have similar experiences and must sit motionless for about 10 minutes or so after driving. To sum it all up, I’m dizzy 24/7, sometimes more extreme than others, and I feel disoriented many times each day. I can only hope that this ENG test in 2 days will help find out if this is an inner ear problem, or some other issue. Comments
