vertigo, 4 different diagnosis

I had my first episode of vertigo in June 08. Little episodes as I would roll around in bed, complete fatigue for weeks, felt like I had the worst hangover ever, or as I would tell people just felt like my head was screwed on wrong. Dizzy when ever I looked up/down or moved head just a little to quickly. Didn’t dare bend over. Doctor said it was a virus, gave me antibiotic. Two weeks later still suffering she sent me to ENT doctor said is was BPPV, did Epley, walked out of office finally feeling back to normal.
In early Nov. had another vertigo attack,bad one, couldn’t walk by myself. Went to hospital, after ruling out stroke heart problems I told the ER doc about last visit with ENT and Epley, he tried it 6 hours later. It helped some so I was at least able to walk out on own. Went back to ENT next day, he now tells me it’s not infection, not BPPV but Menieres. Gave me tranquilers, told me to cut out salt and remove any stress from my life. Sent me for ENG tests three weeks later.
Results showed I have an unsual DOWN beating eye movements during vertigo episodes (most have sideways eye movements )and Dr. thought I had Anterior BPPV (crystals in the Anterior canal)a very rare form of BPPV. Unfortunatly the ENT ignored the Audioligist recommendation to do a specialized form of the epliey. He didn’t research it and ended up doing the normal manuver, told me to do the Brandt/Daroff exercises. Ended up making me worse.
I did research online, read for myself that the Epley he did and exercises are not for my type of BPPV. Started looking for new doctor, found one Neurologist at J Hopkins, appt. in 3 weeks. 10 days ago started having new symptoms of daily headaches and twitching/pulsating feelings behind eye and side of nose. Still have that constant head screwed on wrong feeling, fatigue not as bad, mini vertigo spells and dizziness at times. I hope new doctor will have answers for me. Only able to work a few half days the past week since this all started in early Nov. Afraid I will lose my job, or won’t be better to greet my new grandbaby coming in April.
Prayers go out to all others that suffer from this awful Vertigo and to the doctors as they try to find answers for all of us.

I had my first episode when I was 23 with my first teaching job. I was bending down one evening drawing a bulletin board when all of a sudden the room started spinning.

I have suffered with vertigo for about 40 years. Years ago it was usually caused by inner ear problems. But lately I have had vertigo with no sign of an ear infection. I have been real careful not to go under water when swimming and quit diving years ago because of vertigo.
