fighting vertigo

I thought having a baby would be a life changing experience but not in the way that happened..
I took 5 years to become pregnant and was told my chances of having a baby naturally were only about 5%..So our only option was IVF…luckily for me i fell pregnant at my first attempt..and to add to the excitment i was pregnant with twins.
Over the next 7 months i took life easy making sure i didnt do anything to put any risks on my babies..sadly my waters broke at 29 weeks and i went into premature labour..i was excited and scared at the same time..
I had a caesarian and the doctor gave me a spinal block so i could be awake to see my boys…They were so tiny ..weighing only 1180gms and 1360gms..they were fighting so hard for life..
I felt quite low worrying about them ,they looked sick.
I thought having a baby would be happy and exciting….
I was unable to get up to see my boys in the intensive care unit as i was still numb from the spinal block..however i had pictures sent down to me and i would stare at them wishing i was with them..
The next day i woke with the worst headache i have ever had..i couldnt open me eyes,my neck was sore and sitting up made it worse..they gave me morphine and still it wouldnt go..i was stcuk in me bed all day and couldnt go up to see my babies that day either..it had been 2 days now and my lil miracles still havent heard their mummys voice….For the next few days the headache was still there and now everytime i walked i was off balance and felt lighheaded..and also my vision was quite blurred in one eye..
I had so many doctors visiting me and my babies were also fighting for life up in the nicu..
5 days after the birth i was allowed to go home after having an eye exam …..I couldnt see anything and i couldnt even see my babies faces..what has happened to me?? how did this happen?I went home that day and from that day on my life was taken away from me..
I had the feeling like i was floating and my head was bouncing everytime i lifted me head..when i walked i would fall over..My babies were in hospital for 3 months and i could only go in to see them for a few hours a day..
The doctors tried many medications and gave me so many tests and nothing ever showed up and no medications helped..
I was house bound not being able to go to shops, drive a car or even stand up in a shower..and when my babies came home my mother had to come over from dawn to dusk to help me with them..and this went on for the next 6 years..I have had no life since getting this vertigo and we have spent over $20000 trying to fix me..I had missed out on being a mum to my boys ,everyone else around me got to have fun with them as i watched ..My boys are now 8yo..sadly my husband left me as he couldnt cope with not being able to do things together anymore..so i ened up living with my parents..also the same year my husband left my mother was diagnosed with alzheimers..now my dad has the 2 of us to look after..
Luckily now i can drive a little bit..but somedays i struggle even to have shower…i still have the vertigo every second of the day..i dont go shopping,i cant go out for dinner and i cant go to places with lots of noise or bright lights..life is hell but luckily for me my lil miracles are still with me and they make my life alot easier now…they help me when im really bad..
I cant have anymore children,i had to have a hysterectomy when the boys were 3 due to severe endometriosis .so i have missed out on the chance of being the mother i wanted to be..im depressed all the time and some days i would wish i would get something life threatening so i can get away from all this pain..i hate my life..it was stolen away from me on the day that should of been the happiest day of my life..
Vertigo is something i wouldnt wish upon anyone..i wish there was something i could take to get my life back..
The worse thing is that now the australian government wont give me sickness benefits so now i have to look for work now my kids are at school…i dont know how im going to work but i have no choice..Im scared

I’m on day 12 of severe vertigo symptoms. 2 nights in the hospital, Meclizine and Valium every 4 hours regliously and still no better. I go for Vestibular Rehab next week. Typing this is a chore as is every day activities. With a husband and a 4 year old, I need to be myself again. Also in fear of losing my fulltime job since FMLA doesn’t kick in for me yet. How long will this last?
