Dizziness Shock

by: Lisa on Fri, Mar 28 2008

My first encounter with Vertigo just happened a few days ago. I was sitting at work and then all of a sudden I got extremely light headed, dizzy and nauseous. My head was pounding with a sort of pain I was not familiar with. I went to one of those Urgent Care doctors only for her to tell me that it was just a migraine and gave me some Imatrax which I instantly vomitted up. I knew something was wrong as my body was not used to it, I would barely walk straight nor speak. I proceeded to the ER where I found out that I had vertigo

The doctor explained it my body was off balanced due to a crystal out of place in my inner ear. He prescribed some meds and sent me on my way. The first few days were miserable, I could not eat or even open my eyes. I followed up with my regular doctor and he gave me some exercises which have helped me much more than the medication. There was some relief although I am still trying to get myself back into balance. For all of those who experience this uncomfortableness of vertigo, I feel your pain.

(If anyone is interested in the exercises I can scan the papers and email them to you).
