Frustrated too
by: Glenda
on Thu, Jul 26 2007
This is my third vertigo attack. It has hit me about every 8-10 years. The first two attacts hit all at once, but I recovered within 2 to 3 weeks. This attact has put me off work for almost 2 months now. This is so frustrating because I feel really good when I am sitting or laying down, but when I get up and walk, after a few minutes I find I am veering to the left and cannot walk a straight line. Also, if I turn my head from one side to the other fast, it takes a few seconds for my focus to catch up. I tried to go back to work, but after being on my feet for more than 4 hours, I was spinning and sick to my stomach all over again.

Finally, when I got up I was feeling ok - that night the same thing happened when I went to bed. I can’t lay flat since I can’t roll over onto my side without this happening.

Hi,
I woke up at mid-night a few days ago and the room was spinning so fast that I could hardly get out of bed and to the bathroom. By the time I made it I vomited. Then I took my blood sugar thinking it might be from either a high or low level. It tested o.k. I was so sick and felt like I was on a fast moving merry go round.

- The Mystery of Vertigo - by Skier - (Sun, Jul 22 2007)
I’m 44 and have had a sudden onset of intense vertigo. The spinning has lasted as long as 15 minutes (how long do other people spin?). I’ve also had tingling in my head and pressure too. Afterwards I’ve been disoriented and nauseous. I haven’t seen the tingling as a common symptom, but noticed someone else saying this too so at least I don’t feel alone!

The first ENT thought this was all residual of an infection.
