To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Vertigo with nystagmus I have been having vertigo attacks since April of 2004. At first I thought it was stress-related, I had just been diagnosed with stage 3 skin cancer. Several months after my 2nd cancer surgery I had 3 attacks in one month, then they happened a few times a month until this past winter [2006-07]. Now I have them 2 or 3 times a week. The vertigo throws me completely off balance and the nystagmus makes the room spin. Actually, it’s not spinning but moving extremely rapidly from left to right, left to right, over and over again…making me feel like the room is spinning. If anyone’s ever been really drunk, they can relate. I believe my vertigo attacks are caused by multiple sclerosis but I don’t have the ‘data’ to justify a diagnosis yet. My MRI’s are good, nerve conduction tests, reflexes etc, all good. So, I sit and wait, wait for it to get better, or worse…wait for a diagnosis. Comments
