over a year ago we had a terrible accident. a flat tire during a ride. no ones fault just crappy luck.
during the first few hours my husband was ventilated and rushed to a hospital that could better care for him. he was bleeding in his brain. no idea if he woudl recover r livethrew thenight. he did however wake to pain stimulation but we cuold not keep him awake.

when he did finaly wake up he didnt know what had happen or any of us.he had to be told over and over again what had happen and where he was. he was in icu for only 3 days then 11 days in theropy REHAB then i got to take him home and care for him there. our ride home from the hospital was even scary because he didnt recognize theroad we traveled or the towns we passed threw. thank goodness that improved.

he could not multi task. he litteraly could not walk andtalk at same time. it took all he hadto just walk or just explin himself. with alot of theropy and work we now can smile once again. he will never be the same but he is very much alive and with us.in hopes of oneday returning to the work field. our recovery has beenslow and hard but it was possible. we never gave up and we kept a possitive attitude threw most of it. we could not feel sorry for our selves we could ony be greatfull for a second chance.

i was on that bike i suffered minor injuries. road rash its incredible to think 2 people could suffer such diffrent injuries inthe same accident under the same conditions but its true. you will never be able to predict the out come but safety will guide you in making things better then worse. i recall evry moment and evry detail my husband recalls none. he will always suffer short termm emory loss and as sad asthat may seem. its ok because we havetoday and tommorrow tol ive for the past is done. recalling it allnow shouldnt matter just knowing we canmove forward is all it takes to keep a smileon ourfaces .

never give up and keep a positive attitude i belive it helped us beet all odds
