Divorce caused by TBI

Almost two years ago, my husband, the love of my life, was in a terrible motorcycle accident. They didn’t expect him to survive but miraculously he came back after a week in a coma. Doctors were amazed he could walk, talk, remember(after a while)everyone he knew. It was a long road for us but he did come home to finish his recovery.

He was child-like at first, I almost enjoyed caring for him but as he became stronger, he also became meaner, paranoid, verbally abusive and then physically abusive towards me(the one who cared for him). Anyway, due to lack of insurance and already mounting medical bills, and his non-belief that he had a problem, he did not seek medical attention for this.

His personality changed. He was NOT the man I married and I was actually fearful of him. Needless to say I left him for my safety. He has no emotion, no remorse, and still will do whatever he can to hurt me. He literally became a different person with one blow to the head. I miss the original but I pretend now that he didn’t make it through the accident. Is that wrong?
