To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Katy’s Story Hi im Darla, Katy’s mom Katy was in a car accident on Sept.16 2007 she suffered a traumatic brain injury an inward fracture on her right side of her forhead and injury to the right side of her brain she was in a coma for 3 weeks on Oct.11 2007 she was transfered to a very intense head injury rehab hospital her right side did’nt work at all her speech was gone but i new Katy was tuff as nails. they began there extensive rehabilation Botox injection in her nerves on her right side several series of casting her feet from drop foot as soon as they removed her trach it was on learning to walk talk and even eat again as a mom i feel very lucky my daughter did not lose any of her memory of her past she has short term memory loss but she is as smart as a whip. on Dec.11 she developed ataxia 4 days before she came home from the hospital its been 13 months and they have increased is there hope for this going away. Katys biggest problem is she cant cry its been 13 months of anger,rage,frustration locked in this poor girl and she cant cry to release it to top it off. the boy who was driving drunk who didnt get hurt seriously and was only fined 85 dollars and then broke up with her. she is becoming very violent with her family members and herself out of frustration its hard to get her siblings to understand that her judgement area in her brain was afected and what she says she dosnt mean. please if anyone out there knows about the lack of being able to cry or if the ataxia is permanent or not please contact me so i can help my daughter Comments
