Running out of time

My 17 yr old grandson fell backwards on a cement floor last Sunday 2/10/08, he was med flighted to the hospital where they removed part of his skull to relieve the brain swelling. They now say it has affected his brain stem also. Today Wednesday they done the light in eyes test ear/water, arm drop and whatever with no response. They indicate there’s no hope, but we have seen movement from him squeeing someones hand two or three times, moved his head trying to get away from the nurse brushing his teeth, and when his mom tried to wipe the blood off his nose.

Dr. say this is all involuntery motions. My daughter & her husband are listening to the Drs and said they are going to let him rest for the next few days to see what happens. I have tried to get them to read the many articles on how it takes aleast 2 weeks or more for reactions to the test to show up and for the patient to wake up. He has no chance, choice or time, I would like to shake his parents. I don’t want to see him go. If you have a story about someone like this and recovered, please respond ASAP.

I was a financial analyst, sitting at a stoplight near Coors Field, Denver, Colorado. Two men, addicted to methamphetamines, hit me, in the moment it took for me to take my foot from the gas to the brake. I do not remember anything from the first thirty-three years of my life. I had to learn how to walk, brush my teeth and other things common to a woman of my maturity. [more..]

In 1964-before the days of seat belts-I was a passenger in a car that went through a red light and had a “questionable” disagreement with a large semi. The other two ladies were treated and released from the hospital. but because I was sitting in the middle and hit my head on the steering wheel, I was in a coma for 54 days. [more..]
