There’s Hope - Recovered from Brain Injury

Hi. My name is Kelly. I had a car accident back in 1989 and suffered a traumatic brain injury. I was in a coma for approximately a month and a half to two months. I do not recall so I’m repeating what I’ve been told. According to my family, I was told I wouldn’t live–I’m alive; I was told I wouldn’t be normal–I’m normal; I was told I wouldn’t be able to function independently–I’m doing just fine; I was told I couldn’t go back to school–I got an Associate’s Degree with 3.7 GPA; I was told I wouldn’t be able to work–geez, most weeks I put in 60 hours or more! My doctors predicted my outcome the very best they could; but with hard work and determination, I beat all the odds! Even when it seems like everyone’s giving up on you; don’t give up! There is hope.
