“Running to a code”

I work at a local hospital. A patient was going bad as we call it ” a code” He had just came to the floor from another floor an hour earlier. One of the girls was yelling, “CODE” when you hear this you automatically grab the crash cart and run to the room where the code is.

The superviser was on the floor getting report and she too ran to grab the cart, as I pushed the cart to her I was running back to the desk for something else, what? I will never remember, and I slipped and hit my right side of my head, almost popping out my eye, and the impact flew me up in the air and I landed on my back, and my left shoulder, and my head hit the concrete floor so hard that I also seized.

The other side of the floor heard the bang. I passed out before I hit my for head, so I do not remember what happened. I can remember saying to my co workers I can not move my arms I was paralized for about a week or so that my husband helped me bath, eat , brush my teeth, all the things we take advantage of, I am in outpatient rehab and I have had a few set backs, they say I have a long road ahead of me, after all I took a pretty bad fall.

I am walking and using the wheel chair and a cane. thanks to the rehab people. They are such “Angels” Just remember all of you who has the use of your limbs do not ever take advantage of our extreminies.
