Wheezing while waking up

My fiance’ is telling me that for the past two weeks when I about to wake up, I take a deep breath in. Then instead of releasing it, I release it very slow almost like wheezing or me trying to hold my breath while exhaling. I just noticed it this morning when I woke up and it kinda scared me. Any thoughts?
