To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Night Terrors My 71 year old husband has had night terrors during all of our 38 year marriage, however, they are getting worse and I am afraid he will hurt me or himself. He has had hallucinations with eyes wide open, he thrashes to the point of torn sheets, he has thrown himself off the bed onto the floor to protect himself from an imagined harm during a dream. He has in the past been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and narcolepsy. I have seen him enter a night terror within a minute of closing his eyes. He moans, groans, whimpers, hollers, talks, laughs…. There has to be a chemical imbalance or a neurological problem, wouldn’t you think? He is one of the most psycologically balanced people I know. He doesn’t drink, smoke or do drugs. His Doctor tells him he just has to learn to tell himself “it’s just a dream.” He has a heart problem, and all of this can’t be helping that one bit. What to do? Comments
