To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Surprise Surprise I am a recovering alcoholic and have been sober for 4 years. I had an alcoholic seizure in detox. Mainly because I was not taken off of the alcohol slow enough with help to avoid the seizure Luckily I was in treatment at the time because I fell and had a good sized cut on the top of my head. After being sober for 4 years I was attending my granddaughters softball game I had a seizure I was rushed to ER and blood was draw, liquids were administrated and I was released. I consulted with a neurologist that was unable to tell me what happened or what I should do about it. I am not waiting for an appointment to get a second opinion from a neurologist in a couple of week. I am not driving and I am not taking medication for the seizure. I work two jobs for living expenses. I have stop the second job thinking I was on overload. I am now at home from full time job until I feel strong enough to go back to work. Work helps me stay active and pays the bills. I was taking 3 antidepressants and other drugs. I was extremely dehydrated even though I drank water constantly. I was run down and maybe this was a wake up call for my taking better care of myself, but I don’t know. I am not afraid of a seizure stigmatism, alcoholics know judgmental people and their opinions all too well. I have had depression since my 30s. I am 61, the depression in my 30s was diagnosed as a chemical imbalance. Any words of wisdom or story for me would be appreciated Comments
