Hello! I’m 29 years old and had my first seizure at Longhorn (after I worked a double) back on December 27, 2008. Got taken away by ambulance and had the cat scan done and everything came back fine. They put me on Dilatin. A couple of weeks later, I went in for a MRI and EEG and everything came back normal. They then put me on Keppra. I have not been taking this medication like I am supposed to. I thought my first one was a freak accident and I hate the idea of being medicated. I just had another one on March 22, 2009. I hurt myself. Fell flat on my face and I now feel like I have been run over by a mack truck. I am now taking my medication like I’m supposed to, because apparently this is a serious matter. They only thing that I can think of is that I had an empty stomach most of the day. I do drink on occassion. They seem to think that my first seizure was from dehydration and stress. Do they really know? I don’t want to have to deal with this the rest of my life. They want me to take the Keppra for the next two years. So what happens when I come off it? Am I gonna start having seizures again? Will I be able to have children? This is really scarey and scarey for others who have never seen anything like this happen. I do smoke cigarettes and I’m gonna try like heck to quit that nasty habit. I wonder if I had that seizure because I didn’t have any food in my belly? Comments
