Unsure and scared

I have yet to be diagnosed with anything but from my recent experience I am certain something is amiss.

I went to a well known establishment to have my blood drawn for some tests, I was fasting and it is not unusual for me to faint while having my blood drawn. I am used to this and although I did not enjoy the spells, I know when I am going to faint and to let the attendants know to lie me down prior to going under for my safety.

There was a distinct difference this time, upon waking I was told that I had seizured for 5 to 6 seconds. I have NEVER seized before nor has anyone ever told me on the numerous times that I have fainted that I seized. It had to be THE most frightening moment in my life. As I was coming to, the best way to describe the fear is feeling you are a hostage and someone has taken off the blindfold and you don’t know where you are or who these people are looking down on you. I was so weak I could hardly move or speak….probably frozen in fear but I was also nauseated. I have NEVER had such a tremendous impact to my body. I was so grateful that I had brought my son with me so he could help me to the car and drive me home.

As I said before, I have fainted many times but I usually get up after a few minutes and am perfectly capable of going about normal activities….not this time.

I am hoping this is a one time occurrence but if it isn’t, I will learn how to deal with it as I have read so many of you do every single day.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? My doctor appointment is this week but as you can see I am still very freaked out about all of this. Any advise or someone with a similar experience would be greatly appreciated.
