Hi, I posted back in March, (still wondering) This is another update…as well as looking for some advice from the members as to what I should do next or thoughts and opinions would also be helpful. It may give me some insight as to what is going on with me ankle.
To start…I can’t remember hurting my ankle, the only different lifestyle change was that I started walking alot, trying to loose some weight. So I walked everyday. Then a lump appeared just under my ankle…from there pain and spreading burning pain. Swelling, my ankle looks as if its bruised all the time. Fluid, dry skin in the area…as if it was starting to peel over and some areas are now smooth and shiny. The burning pain I feel radiates up the back of my calf. What I don’t understand, is sometimes I feel okay….pain is bearable but still a mild ache. Other time it grabs me all of a sudden and feels like a knife was stabbed in the area.
The burning is crazy. I feel most of my pain in the evenings/mornings. Some days I am able to walk fine other days I have to limp. Some days its more sensitive to touch then other days. So my questions to the professionals themselves…people who suffer from RSD…is, can this be RSD? Should I move forward to different doctors? I have had blood work on any histological diseases they could think of and it was all negative, x-rays-negative, 2 biopsies which indicated scar tissue…but like I said I cannot remember ever hurting my foot. I do have a tattoo on my foot but they said it would not be caused from that seems it was 2 years ago that I had the tattoo done. I have been on 2 lots of antibiotics, didnt help and 10 cortizone injections! Which almost killed me to get considering they were injecting in such a tender sensitive area…I cryed to break my heart. But desperate for a fix.
This has been going on since November 2008, I am into my 6th month and still no answers about what is wrong. I have to take something for pain everyday, sometimes more frequently throughout the day then others. I am so confused! What should I be doing. I have put off going out of town because I am afraid my foot will act up. I can’t go shopping for a day, I can only last a short time walking on it. I can’t even drive because It’s my right foot and it hurts to push my foot forward to push the gas peddle. I have been back to a couple of doctors appointments. I have mentioned the possibility of RSD and the dermatologists said point blank, no I don’t think this is what you have. I also mentioned it to my GP and he was not really familiar with RSD Either way, I am waiting to be referred to a Rheumatologist to hopefully get some answers. So please, feedback would be great, I don’t know what I should do. Thanks everyone in advance!

i am no doctor but i would bet my life on the fact that yes you have RSD, and if you keep going with no treatment it will do so much more damage, ...Read
