learning to relive

Hello my name is Sam, I’m very new to all of this. I have lived with chronic pain most my life as that I’ve had numerous surgery and things. I recently had surgery to remove a tumor in my right ankle and scope it out. It was worse then the had thought and I will be dam if I didn’t get RSD. Not like I had enough to deal with in my life.

I am newly married have 3 teenage step-sons I think of my own, a handicap daughter and 3 new grand babies. I lived the run of the mill life and I was happy with my life. I had a job and my family. My hubby and I enjoy riding the the bike to rallies and just putting around with our friends. The boys are really into the 4-wheelers and we ride quite a bit. Well you have the picture we are very active people. 3 months ago they tell me I have RSD

I go from being active to the couch with leg up using crutches and looking into a wheelchair. Using crutches is a joke, I am unstable and fall quite a bit. I’m not sure were I fit in now. It has crippled me a a very fast rate. My right leg is totally unusable and I have not responded to treatment well. I’m on my 4th pain pump (which I hate them) They hurt worse then the pain sometimes. Pain meds are a joke. Made an appointment with pain clinic at the end of the month. PT (tried that) is totally out of the question and nothing can touch my leg and I cant use it let alone move it.

My Family is trying to deal with it but I don’t know to help them. I do know they get tired of having to help me with everything. I hate asking for help. I’m tired but can’t sleep. I forget things and feel like I’m losing my mind. I’m emotional wreck and don’t know how to deal with everything. I’m trying to support my family and husband but don’t know how.

I really would like to find someone with my spouse that is dealing with the same thing. So he can talk to, help him find the help he is needing to cope with is also. He always worried about me and I hate telling him I hurt everyday. Lets face it I hate telling anyone I hurt. Ok now that I have rambled on and on. Sorry about that. I do think this is a great site and I got alot from it. Look forward to meeting new friends. I normally am happy upbeat person looking forward to finding her and bring her back.
