RSD–the unrelenting pain
by: dar in pa
on Fri, Jan 02 2009
Hi,
I am new to this site. I hope I am doing things right. I have been an RSD “victim” for over 20 years. I had about ten horrible years, then a slight “remission” for about 5 years. However, the last 5 have been extremely worse the the first 10. I’m sure you understand when I say” you just don’t know where to put yourself” as the pain is just unbelieveable. Anyone with this horrific disorder understands what I am saying.
I am wondering if anyone has found any meds that help alleviate any of the pain, especially the burning. My RSD is in my back and extends through both hips, knees, legs and feet. To sum it up, from my waist down my body is shot. Thank God, so far my upper extremity does not show sign of the RSD spreading there.
This terrible disorder has taken over my life, as I can no longer work, and barely leave my home. I’m sure there are others out there who are in the same shape. I cry alot of the time, as I am sure you all know, depression goes along with the chronic pain.
Any help or suggestions from anyone will be greatly appreciate. I would love to hear from anyone. Can you believe, in this modern day of technology, I just got my first computer.
Happy,HEALTHY New Year to all. I wish there would be a breakthrough to some meds that would stop this terrible pain.
Thanks for listening to my story. My thoughts are with everyone out there who suffers from RSD.

2 years ago, March 2007. A beautiful day. A drive in the van with my husband and our 2 year old grandson for a day together and then, out of nowhere, in an instant, my life has changed FOREVER! A speeding car and an inattentive driver running a stop sign had left me with several dislocated vertebre in my neck, an injured shoulder and some kind of strange, horrific pain in my left arm.
