Hi It’s Chris again!!

I wrote you guys and girls, all suffers of rsd a lettter about what i have been through with this terrible, grossly misunderstood disease.I wrote it in October so if you wish to read it just click on archives and then click the month of October.

I am presently involved in a lawsuit regarding my rsd 14 months ago a car door was slammed on my right ring finger crushing the bone. When the door was shut on my finger i instincttively pullled my finger out striping all of the nerves and tendons as well. This led to 2 reconstructive surgeries 20 Ganglion nerve blocks pain that i wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, associated with the rsd,i mean a deep burning pain, fever, chills, my finger swells to the size of a pickle and the rsd has now advanced to stage two called causalgia which means it is spreading to all of my right hand fingers and even my right palm.

5 days out of 7 in a week i have zero use of my right hand. But like all of your letters that i read here, the doctors and in my case even the lawer doesn’t seem to understand the amount of pain i am experiencing. We all look so healthy on the outside and i think it actually makes it hard for these professionals to have compassion for us.I mean what kind of price can i put on losing the ability to use my right hand when i am right hand dominant?

I am only 50 years of age, a father of 3 sons, all still active in sports, which i can no longer enjoy with them, I am retired from the Long Island Rail Road and a stay at home dad so i used to love to clean the house , do laundry, fix up the house, you know, carpentry, plumbing etc.and now i can’t even wipe myself as i am training myself to do everything with my left hand and it is so hard after never using it before. What should i expect as a fair settlement for someone elses negligence that has ruined the part of my life that i worked so very hard to now enjoy?
