Is there any hope of being normal again?

I have been unable to use my left leg for over four months now. I was a senior manager at a bank. One day, I left for lunch, and a girl ran a red light. She hit me in my driver door. I have not been officially diagnosed with RSD yet, but they are looking at it (diagnosis in progress). I don’t know what else it could be. Every day tasks cause me severe pain.
I can’t walk more than 20 feet on it. I have been on crutches all this time. The doctors blew me off in the beginning, and several have continued to do so. They told me that since nothing was broken, I should be able to walk without crutches. I limped around for a week and a half after the accident, and then the nerve in my whole leg “exploded.” Before that, it was only below the knee down to the toe. I have been unable to work and have pain with my leg in just a normal sitting position. They finally did an mri and found a ruptured ligament, which the doctors keep insultingly referring to as a sprain (discovered over three months later when they have been telling me, there is nothing wrong with you). They are treating me like I am crazy.
I was hiking in the Grand Canyon on vacation the week before this accident. If I could walk, I would! I guess they think I just want drugs or out of work or a lawsuit settlement. All I want is my life back! They released me back to work this past week, but my employer demoted me to a demeaning level and a salary I can barely live on. It is a struggle just to make it through the day, both physically and emotionally.
I am only 30 years old. Aside from depression from not being able to function at a basic level, I am deeply depressed that I can’t be as social or dance or wear high heels anymore (my legs have always been one of my best features). Maybe that part of it is vanity, but the resulting depression is real and severe nonetheless. Will I ever function normally again?

I am a classical guitarist. On May 15, 2007, a careless driver caused me to have a bicycle accident and I fractured my left wrist. Fortunately, the fracture healed rather well and within four months after the fracture I was performing again. Unfortunately, I developed RSD beginning in July 2007.

I’ve been reading y’alls stories and am trying to learn more about this. I broke my leg (bimalleolar) on June 5 while skating with a church youth thing. I’m 38. Single mom of 3 teens. I had surgery on June 13th, when I went back in july to have my first cast removed my rt. leg was so swollen and discollored so the dr kept me in a cast for another 4 weeks.
