To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download RSD I am 8 weeks out from a long finger trigger release and still not sure if I have RSD To date I have met with another hand specialist besides the surgeon that did my release and he stated wit confidence that I have RSD. He sent me to a Pain Dr. who almost laughed in my face and stated that I do not have RSD and instructed me to have an MRI of my neck… My follow up vist with the pain DR. was that he thinks that I do have RSD…He kept insisting it was all of my neck, but I think I convinced him otherwise as I have had bad disc in my neck for years and have gone through this kind of pain in my life…Pain Dr. has sent me for a bone scan. When I called his office he told the nurse to tell me that he would discuss the bone scan with me when I came in and told her to tell me that I have RSD….How cold and non-sympathetic. I feel because I disagreed with his original dx of disc in the cervical area that he would go ahead and call it whatever I wanted. I say this because he asked me what do I want this to be…I tried to explain that I merely did not want him to get side-track by my neck..I was also schedule with the neurologist, but postpone that as my nerves in my hand and my arm seemed to be calm right now and I did not want to make them “mad” with a EMG/NCV. I am sure I wil have it done in the near future. I have not seen my surgeon in over 3 weeks as he has been out of town…Altough, every visit with him he would assure me that I did not have RSD and not to worry…He had put me on a Medrol Pack, Elavil and an injection in the base of the long finger…My finger is no better than before surgery…I am so confused…I am worried how my R. hand is certain positions (mostly down) that it turns blueish in color. I never had a burning pain, but more of a terrible constant ache that ran up the side of my arm to my elbow..It was more than I could take so of course I took pain medicine every 4 hours and then had to another med to help with the withdrawals. In addition, my entire R. hand fingers are so still in the morning I cannot use them until I limber then with exercising…my knuckles hurt too. There much more to this, but I’ve explained enough to hopefully get someone to respond to it. It has been so exhausting and frightening..I just do not know who is right.. Does anyone out there have any suggestions or does this sound like something you have experience..Thank all of you for your interest and help… Comments
