This is just no way to live

Back in 1983 I was involved in a single car accident at the time I had a great job driving a cement mixer the pay was good the people I worked with were a good bunch of guy’s I had been there for six year’s life was great, I had a great credit score and was two week’s away from buying a cabin which I had been renting.

This one day I work over time and it was dark by the time I got done with cleaning out my truck this was in feb, well on my way home I had the window’s closed the heat was on and there was no radio in the car I was so stupid to have the window’s closed with the heat on, what happend was I fell asleep. I should have known better anyway I came to a spot in the road where I was coming down a hill and at the bottom you had to turn either right or left if you didn’t you would go stright into a rock, [I am talking BIG rock]. I hit the rock doing about 45 or so the motor came into the font seat my left foot went through where the brake pedal was. The car was still moving it went up in the air came back down on the same rock and crushed the car. It took almost an hour with the jaws of life to get me out of the car, this whole time I was in and out every time I would open my eye’s there where peole there saying “just stay still we’ll get you out,” out? out of what I had no idea what happend, once out and in the hospital they took x-ray’s and I had broken my left foot, broke my right leg, there were 3 or 4 broken rib’s and all kind’s of cut’s all over my face and arm’s and well you get the idea.

The doctor came in and said that because of the way my right leg was broken I’d need a metal rod in the center of the femer bone so it would heal right, but in fiteen month’s it would be taken out, well thing’s didn’t go right in the operating room and the rod was not going to be removed it would be there the rest of my life. after a month in the hospital I was released and had to go live with my sister because my right leg was in a brace they had made up, my left foot was in a cast, and living up in the wood’s was out of the question. when I felt a little better I went down to work and told the boss about the rod in my leg and how it was going to have to stay there, well he told me that the insurance company wouldn’t cover me because of that, so not only did I lose my job I lost my cabin and my whole way of life.

As time passed I was getting better and it was time to leave my sister’s and go out on my own, I was on social security it wasn’t much but I’d be able to find a place and start a new way of life. well in 1990 I woke up one morning an walked out to the liveing room and that’s when my left leg gave out from under me I fell to the floor and the eletric shock I was getting in that leg were so bad it was like sticking your finger in a light socket [yes I have stock my finger in one I was just a kid!].

From that point on my life went down hill so fast it was like going down the hill that started all of this, when I would get a shock it was so bad I would screem so loud people had no idea what was going on, well back to the hospital I went and the doctor’s there thought all I was looking for was drug’s, well there was one doctor that was seeing me and the only thing he said he could do to stop the shock’s was to have a sympathictomy, ok I said if that the only way go for it.

After waking up in recovery the first thing that came out of my mouth was a scream louder then before the operation, my GOD did it hurt never again I still get those shock’s and my leg burn’s so bad some day’s I can’t even wear long paint’s, needless to say they didn’t cut all the nerve’s so I am no better off then I was.
ok I’ve got to go lie down for a bit I’ll finish later TJ
