My Horse Accident Resulting in RSD
by: lisa
on Fri, Aug 08 2008
Almost 4 years ago I had a horse, very tame. All the sudden she went nuts on me. I held on for over five hundred feet before I knew I was out of control in the saddle. I quickly thought and took my feet out of the sturps. I did not want to be draged. I knew I was going down, so I thought about my body parts. went I thought what was the least thing that I could accept. I choose my right arm. Wrong decision!
I dislocated my elbow lost a lot of bone there, shattered my wrist and badly broke my forarm. Little did I know I would be in pain for the rest of my life. I had nerve blocks, It worked for me. I was pain free. Last year my RSD came back and it has moved to my hip bone.
This is so much worse the second time around. I have had two children and I would gladly trade that pain any day. People do not understand unless they have it. I emailed Montel Williams asking him to do a show and bring in experts. I had no response. I ask each one of you to try to contack him or Oprah and let the world know this is real and the pain is unbearable.

My story about RSD isn’t as tragic as most people’s. I broke my foot almost 5 years ago to this day and developed RSD. Fortunately, my doctors were familiar with this condition so I got help sooner than most of the people I’ve read about. I too have had multiple blocks and now maintain on Lyrica.
