To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download RSD due to freak accident Hi everyone, I had a freak accident back in Aug 2005 that caused the RSD I suffer with now. I was having a “sit-down” MRI for my neck. The chair I sat in was attached to the actual MRI machine. Well, when it was time to get out the chair is lowered to the floor and then moved forward. Well, thats when it happened. I was told to lift my feet (before moving the seat forward). So i did then when the machine and my chair moved forward the machine went over my heels and up the back of my legs. My legs were getting jammed underneath it. I yelled My feet, My feet, My feet. I went back to work. I was there during my lunch break. I told myself to sit for an hour. Then when I went to check if we had ice packs in the freezer and when I tried to take a step it felt like my achilles tendon had been sliced with a knife. That’w when it all started. I had the RSD in both my feet and both achilles tendon. I had 3 major back surgeries. I had a spinal cord stimulator inplanted. It helped my feet but at the same time the pain traveled up the back of my right leg and butt. The foot pain eventually diminished but the leg and butt pain is still present to this day. Then I had a second surgery to move up the stimulator. The doctor’s did this because they thought the stim was causing the leg pain. It didn’t, and I eventually had the stim taken out. The surgeries were absolute TORTURE. Try being awake during them. I wasn’t “put out” for ANY of them. The nurse held my hand while I cried. I was terrified! The burning foot pain in my right foot came back. I feel like my entire right foot, back of my right leg and my butt are on fire. Sometimes it feels like i’m on fire and othertimes it feels like my leg/foot is in boiling water. It stings like putting your finger in boiling water. I can’t work. I can’t get disabililty. I can’t sit, walk, stand. That’s because when I sit my burning butt and thigh touch the chair. I have to stand on one leg when I make food etc. I don’t go ANYWHERE. I try NOT to drive because i have to use my right leg to do it.. Just plain sucks!!! I’m 32 and can’t do much. Thanks for listening
