Hi my name is Paula,
In november i fell and broke my left wrist. Hospital suggested i see surgeon who decided to put pins in. A few weeks later my fingers were were so swollen that one was squished down under the other 3 as there was no room for it. 4 weeks had gone by and still no change, i went to emergency room as the pain was unbearable and my fingers felt like they were on fire. i was told make an appointment with your surgeon. 5 days later surgeon says too swollen to take pins out. 2 weeks later still too swollen but he took pins out anyway and told me go to physio and when i see him in a month i will be shaking my fist at him because everything will be fine. i told him i dont think so something is very wrong. when i first went to physio one of the ladies said you need to be referred to a wrist specialist, this is the worst case of rsd i have ever seen here. (now im scared thinking what is rsd) and im not going to touch it. the other lady said wow thats interesting i can do it i will touch her. this made me feel nervous like it was a personal challenge to her or something. 3 months since starting physio and swelling is still there and i still cant bend my fingers and wrist. My shoulder is now out of use as the pain is to horrible to move it.
i am feeling depressed, cranky, confused and worried as i am a single mom who just bought a new house and cant work. (i work in an oil plant and need to pull my body weight) i cant sleep at night either. i have seen 7 different doctors and nobody seems to do anything about it. i am going to ask to be referred to a specialist as i am getting no answers here. Just more pain.
I was thinking to get a bone scan or something. i have no idea what to do as the doctors here seem to not want to deal. This is spreading into my body and i am scared.
If anyone can give me some suggestions i would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You
Paula
