To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My life with RSD I was 20 years old when after coming up the stairs from bringing out trash, the stair came un-nailed and I fell down the stairs. I ended up rupturing several of my lumbar disks and fracturing my tail bone. After wards I went through months of physical therapy and rehabilitive therapy, which did not work. It took 5 years to finally get a diagnosis, RSD. Due to my age, several physicians never considered it, since RSD usually affects people in the 40’s-60’s. They never took into consideration my previous back injury, so it gradually got worse. I was a mother of 3 small children and the pain was almost unbearable. Once I got the diagnosis I finally got the treatment for it. I now get lumbar blocks every four weeks and and my life is as normal as it will be. I can’t say I wake up everyday and feel like jumping out of my bed, but what I can say is I CAN get out of my bed. Some people get lumbar blocks and it works the first time, and they get relief for months, some people like myself have to go every 4 weeks to get the full benefit. I urge you, if you had an injury, if you are young, and they can’t find the problem, bring up RSD. It never hurts to check, I wish I had known what RSD was when I was younger. It would have saved me a lot of pain, and lot of sadness and given me more time to spend with my babies playing, instead of having to watch other people play with them. You can live with RSD, but the most important thing is to get it diagnosed as early as possible. RSD is a progressive disease and the sooner it’s found, the easier it is to treat. Comments
