RSD and Radiation treatment

I was involved in an auto accident and broke my hip and three fractures to my ankle. I was treated with radiation following several hours of surgery to prevent trumatized [traumatized] muscle from turning to bone. This is a new proceedure. I have been diagnosed with RSD and have tremendous swelling and pain in my ankle. So far the hip is good. I also feel i’m getting no use from my doctor. I see him every four weeks just to get reffered to another theripist or pain clinic. I have seen on some websites on RSD that radiation can be a cause. Is there anyone else out there with a similar situation? I’d like to share stories, diagnosis, symptoms and other with someone. I feel useless!

I was 20 years old when after coming up the stairs from bringing out trash, the stair came un-nailed and I fell down the stairs. I ended up rupturing several of my lumbar disks and fracturing my tail bone.

I Have suffered from severe RSD for five years. On average I have endured 12-15 visits to the hospital each year. At first I was tested from everything from Parkinsons to bone marrow cancer. I have done five double blind studies three out-patient and two in-patient.

My first knee surgery was at the age 12 and my last was at the age 42 Dec.28th 2006 total knee replcement. I thought the pain would go away, how wrong I was after surgery was diagnosised with R.S.D and it has been hell ever since.

Hello Everyone
I am in my 21st year of CRPS (17 undiagnosed). My SNS is completely exhausted. Things are going well. I am totally satisfied with my medical team (it takes a while) and my treatment plan is working well.

In 1985 I had Carpal Tunnel surgery to my right hand. My hand was becoming blue, stiff and hypersensitive.The Orthopedic doctor said it was a success but just needed more time to heal.

I am 17 years old, and I was diagnosed with RSD (i was also diagnosed with spondolarthopy [spondylarthropy] too) 3 years ago, but I’ve had it for 5 years. In 7th grade, I was playing soccer in PE. I kicked the ball and then there was a pain in my right foot.

Well one day I went to school and at the end of my lesson the teacher told the whole class to stand up and wait till the bell goes so we all stood up and all of a sudden my leg went and for the rest of the day I was limping and gradually it got worse so the following week I had to go to school on cruches.

I was diagnosed with RSD 5 yrs ago after a work related injury, oh man work compensation stinks. I had been on so many different things done to me and put on on so many medications and none seem to help and caused so many bad side effects that I couldn’t handle them anymore.

I fell down a flight of stairs just over 2 months ago and while I was enduring the healing of all the scrapes and cuts from the fall, rsd set in. My fingers only bend slightly but have mo joint movement at all.
