To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download The Last Dance Dancing at my son’s wedding I stumbled, fell and suffered a colis fracture. Almost six weeks in a cast at which time I visited doctors twice about the discolouration and swelling of my fingers and the lump on my elbow. I was told this was usual because I had suffered a bad break. To-wards the last two weeks in the cast the discomfort made me want to smash my arm agains’t a wall to rid myself of it. I concentrated on keeping calm and busy. I was very pleased when the cast came off but then the pain started. Three months after the break and I have muscle wastage on my lower and upper arm and shoulder blade area. I cannot lift my arm up sideways because the shoulder pain will drop me to the floor. I am doing the physio exercises and the hot and cold water hand plunging. I have an ache that radiates from my hand through to the elbow and up into my shoulder. I am on panadol three times a day, having resisted this for the first month. I was trying to live with the discomfort. My problem is that slowly this is wearing me down. I refuse to become depressed but I am certainly frustrated and disappointed with what has come my way. I begin treatment with a hand therapist this week. Here’s hoping. Comments
