Troubled with RSD!!!!!!!
by: L.R.
on Thu, Jun 28 2007
I am 34 and I have had RSD for 2 years. Over the years, I have had an Appendectomy w/exploratory surgery, 3 C-sections, Tubeligation, Hysterectomy due to a cancer scare, 2 carpaltunnal and 2 tarsaltunnal surgeries.
I also have now painful cyst in my breast, painful cyst on my ovaries, a Bakers cyst behind one knee and really bad Arthritist under both knee caps. And at one point the doctors thought I had Breast cancer due to swollen nodes under my left armpit (still not sure). I thought I had had everything. Apparently not.
I was hurt on my job 3 years ago and again 1 year ago. The 1st, I hurt my back and neck. I have 2 bulging slip disk in my neck and in the L-5 and S-1, my disk is pressing against the nerve sack. The second accident, I hurt my upper arm (what is wrong, no one seems to know). With this I was fired from my job because I am BROKEN. Even workers comp is worthless. They want no part of it, not being paid, commisioner even said “Get out, no money”. Even now, I sware my lawyer is being paid off by the other side.
Anyways, now I am told as of a year ago, I have RSD The pain is unbearable. I can not stay on my feet no more than 1 hour at a time, 2 if Im real lucky. I have pain that gets sharper and sharper day by day. I have 3 kids. I need to do things with them but how do I tell them mommy hurts. Even when I do tell them, I see the hurt in their eyes because Im all they have.
All of my family is in another state. Even they think I am full it. Forget the fathers side. My kids are mixed, so to either side my kids are not a whole. So to them, my kids are trash. They only have MEEEEEEEE.
I have had the Lumbar injections, methadone and other pills, electric stim. test etc. Nothing helps ease the pain. I feel useless because I am a single mom and by law, the father can not see them nor help me out. I cry everyday because I feel useless and yes because of the pain. What am I to do? I have joint pain, shooting and stabbing pain, coldness and hotness to touch, tingling in feet and toes, numbness etc. This is throughout my whole body.
How does anyone cope with RSD. The only good thing, is that I have SSI to help me. There is no other money. Everyone thinks the pain is not real. Even my boyfriend thinks it is all in my head. Can anyone give me some advice. Is there any hope? Sorry I rambled on. Thank you.

After a carpel tunnel surgery in 2005, I was diagnosed with RSD. I was released from my job duties due to my condition. Its bad enough to know I have a permanent disability, I’m in pain all the time, and even worse, to lose my job because of this, when it wasn’t my fault.
