To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download God is in the process of refining me through Parkinsons My story is being given with the hope it will help others with parkinsons to keep on many steps ahead of “old Mr. Park”. I was diagnosed with parkinsons disorder going on 12 years ago. I call it a disorder, because that is what it is,,it is not catching, as would be a disease…sometimes it shows up in several generations and then again, this isn’t the case. I am on 4 parkinsons meds,,,,mirapex, eldepryl , stalevo and carbilevadopa cr. and am doing well right now on this…I am active in several singing groups,,it’s so important to exercise those vocal cords with pd. I still help other folks in their homes when asked to with their daily living activities, bathing, etc. There are times of despondency, but I do my stretching and exercising here at home several times a day. Exercise helps tremendously with the stiffness and your walking gait..when my meds are working, I love to step-dance to some good 50’s music. Parkinsons has instilled in me the need to write of my children, grandchildren, anything the Lord brings to my mind, and I am in the process of getting my journals published in book form. Please don’t just sit while putting up with the Parkinsons. get involved in a parkinsons local group in your city..the parkinsons site on the web www.pdf.org has a creativity spot where you can display any art work, writings, audio, or whatever you have created…go for it…you can do it…. Meds are available for whatever the Parkinsons is doing to your body…go to a neuro doctor who is experience in parkinsons management. Make an effort, tho suffering with the different emotions parkinsons brings on, make an effort to help someone else along life’s pathway…You will be blessed as well as the recepient of your efforts….
