To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Parkinsons and stationary bike and weigh lifting I wrote not to long ago about my life with parkinsons. And I mentioned that I was going to start weight lifting and useing stationary bike daily.Well instead of going to gym I elected to purchase equipment myself as in long run its less exspensive.Well I started doing it and although it felt hard and still does I’am going to keep on truckin. As stated in last message I wrote I mentioned I have nerve, disk, neck problems associated with the injury I had in 88. If anyone read it they would also know of all other problems I have besides parkinsons. Also last month I went for routine appointment for the parkinsons. The doctor went through the normal routine and she said for a man in his sixties with over 20yrs of parkinsons that I was doing good.Well as good as one could exspect with the parkinsons and other health problems.I told her that I was starting weight lifting soon. Like other doctors mentioned also that I had better take it easy and go slow. I read other stories of people that have the on set of parkinsons and then it goes full tilt in two years sometimes less others more. I speak to alot of doctors and they tell the same story in which there are different phazes of the disease. Well I just wanted to touch base with all of you who share this disease. The bike rideing and weight lifting is helping a great deal.I still shake in left arm and some in right arm.Still cannot walk very far but useing the bike I can peddle an hour,I pay for it after I’am done.I bought an ab machine and big guns for arms from Jake.On the ab machine I’am up to around a 100 plus crunches and the two arms workout doing the reps that the machine says to only I have not been able to add more weight as yet,I’am still at 30 but getting there slowly but surely. Today 9/20/07 went to doctor to get fleu shot and more medication. I still have trusty old cane so I don’t fall down as I do sometimes. She increased my medication for the parkinsons by takeing two caps instead of one she said take the other like I have been all the while which is the blue tablet. She increased the medication because of headaches, that come and go.But with that said and done she took blood work from two weeks ago and gave report on the findings clestorol level in bad and good better that average along with other findings. She asked me how the parkinsons was doing as she said she noticed less shakeing.I told her what I was doing and she said keep it up.As heart rate resting was below 60 and pressure for blood was 116/68 which was As she said was better then hers. I’am not sure if what I put into words will help others but it just might.I still think that alot of my problems with the disease is nerves, added with back and disk, and thyroid and all the other problems that came along soon after the onset of parkinsons. The first dr.who retired said treating parkinsons is one thing but sezuers and headaches and panic attacks servere pain is hard as he said all of these things are located in same spot altogether. He said if I did the things I’am doing now its better then sitting doing nothing. So as I said what I’am doing is working and yes its difficult and alot of pain at times, but waiting around for a cure and not helping oneself does no good. I beleive the cure is around the corner so to speak, whether I’ll see it is a ? mark. A member of my CHURCH has a form of parkinsons where he needs a walker and is haveing a hard time getting around and chewing and other eating dissorders, yet he is a fighter,he comes twice a week rain or shine. He also has hard time talking.I know you have to fight it the best one can. So try some weights and rideing a bike stationary that is and GOD BLESS you all. may that cure come sooner then later. Comments
