I have two herniated disks in my cervical spine as a result. The symptoms were gradual but overtime they had become severe and impaired my life. My left hand, elbow and shoulder would become numb and stiff. The burning sensation in my neck was so painful I would wear my hair up. The thought of anything touching my skin would send me into tears. There was never a trigger for the pain because it always seem to just appear. I went to see my family doctor because the symptoms went from once in awhile to everyday. I explained to him that I felt as if my skin was on fire and the shooting pain made my hand weak. He referred me to a neurologist who sent me for blood work and a MRI I went back for the results and learned I had a cervical neuropathy I started pain management and an anti seizure medication to relieve the symptoms. I changed my diet and I started taking vitamins every morning. My symptoms have decreased enough to live a comfortable life, but they have never fully gone away. I still have pain and numbness which my doctor says is permanent. I wish everyone the best of luck in diagnosing and treating their own neuropathy Comments
