I was run over by a car in 1979 and then in 1987 I was almost killed in a motor cycle wreck. I have had even twice that much more trauma to my body that It is too painful to talk about. My left foot has been broke five times. I may have had signs of neuropathy as early as 2001 but it wasn’t diagnosed until 2006-2007. In 2006 my primary care doctor had ordered me off my feet because of the edema that had returned. I had no where to rest as I was living in the front room of a family that had three small children and a church in their home three times a week. A few months later I had to move out of state but it was just after Katrina and there was still no housing available so I moved into a big church. I had done lots of work for the church and for the pastors wife fifteen years prior and they were wanting me to be able to do the same this time. I wasn’t able to but I did more than I should have because the edema came back. My feet got so hot and so swelled up that they felt as if they would pop if I stood up. I went to the doctor and he was forced to put me on neurontin. I studied medicine in college and because of some things my college professor had told me I didn’t want to go on neurontin. But by faith I tried it and instantly the pain subsided within one month. After slowing down and resting more I decreased the dosage to only one at bedtime. As before I was taking two neurontin per day. My pain management doctors had already began me on different vitamins to combat arthritis so I was already taking great nutritional supplements to help nerve damage heal. I was only having to take an occasional neurotin at night time until then. But having to move out of state the fourth time since Katrina every where I went they took new ex rays since I have multiple body injuries. I had forgot that the Orthopedic had recently ex rayed my left foot six months earlier until after I got home from the Podiatrist and the neuropathy came back with a vengeance. My left foot had already been diagnosed with arthritis by my Florida Podiatrist. But now for two years I was having to wear an ace bandage on it everyday all day and all night. It felt weak like it was going to break again. And when I went to have the inserts made that the orthodic doctor had made the prosthetic and orthodics people recommended that I get shoes made. So I went to the podiatrist to see what was wrong with my feet. He took new ex rays. That night I got home my feet were red and inflamed. I soaked them in kelp and boswellia to detoxify from the radiation and get the swelling to go down with the boswellia. The next day they were just fine. But that night the left foot started burning again. And I soaked them again but again the third and fourth day the left foot is burning, prickly and red. I am a living witness that ex rays do make neuropathy worse. Please share this with all who want to help others heal from mobility disorders. Life is hard enough without going through it with pain and worse yet mobility problems. Please give this to all who are researching neuropathy. Thank you Comments
