To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Living With Peripheral Neuropathy I ws diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy back in 1999 and was in denial becaused I had the burning pain in my feet. I learn to live with that watching my diet and exercise. Then in 2007 I was diagnosed with it in my Hands…the burning sensation kept me up all night and my neurologist told me that it was not Carpal Tunnel and that the neuropathy was in my hands. They have never told me what has caused all of this, but I was also diagnosed with a high Iron level in my blood system, which can be one of the causes I have read. I have been doctoring for over a year trying to get my iron levels back to normal and I have not noticed any difference. I do not think that they even actually know how to even treat this or cure this type of disease except for using drugs to help us with our pain. I take an antidepressant and Lyrica and it seems to help me get through my day. I notice when I keep myself busy such as working with my hands or even walking it helps to relieve my symptoms somewhat. I have a problem at times when I am trying to do something such as picking things up and cannot hold onto them. I do know that they have shoe insoles that are suppose to help, but with your feet burning all the time they just make your feet hotter. For Christmas we had gotten my kids a WII and it has a yoga program on the WII fitness and I try to do that a few times a week to help me relax and it helps to relieve some of the pain. If there was a foundation out there trying to find a cure this would be something to work on as for any other type of disease. All we can do is live with this day by day and just hope. Comments
