To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My Neuropathy I started having numbness in my toes in 2000. I just dealt with it for a very long time. I like others thought it was my back. It didn’t go away. I would sit at my desk and it would feel like my feet were going to burst out of my shoes. Very painful. I finally went to a podiatrists. He immediately said I had neuropathy and gave me neurontin. There was no way I could take it and work or drive. I stopped taking it and went back to doing nothing. I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2005 so the doctor immediately said I had neuropathy Didn’t matter that I had it for several years before I was diagnosed with diabetes. I had hypoglycemia for years, but I never see it linked with neuropathy. It is a blood sugar disease so I think maybe that had something to do with it. I have been on Lyrica for several years now, but it doesn’t seem to be helping now. I am having the shocks in my toes again. I am also wondering if the neuropathy is cause the pains in my legs and knees. I have yet to find a doctor who knows anything about it. I did find a rheumatologist that said he could treat it. Could not go back to him because I have no insurance so I am kind of stuck with the pain. One more year and I will have Medicare. Comments
