To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Neuropathy affecting Feet I am a 78-year-old male in good health. I play hard tennis 3x weekly and work out at a gym. For the last 10 years, I have experienced foot numbness and occasional “electric shocks” in my toes… these are almost painful and usually continue, off and on, for a day or two. No medication has helped; acupuncture seemed to help for a while. Amazingly, I have just discovered a way to stop these shocks instantly, and that is by gently and lightly rubbing my fingers or hand over the top of my upper thigh. The relief is immediate but not usually sustained. Having studied neurophysiology, I am baffled to understand why this should help but it certainly does for me and I sincerely hope anyone reading this will also be helped. I am not diabetic, by the way. Comments
