Diabetic Neuropathic Pain

My father suffered for many years with bad burning pain in his feet caused by his type 2 diabetes. He was on medication for it but this complicated his arthritis and heart meds so it was a never ending round of more drugs and pain killers to try to keep him pain free which just never happened. He was unable to sleep at night or walk around much and told his doctor to stop prescribing him meds so he could just die.

Do you know that when he stopped his meds he didn’t die, he actually felt better. Yes he still had some pain but he just took some really simple pain tabs for it and was able to move around more and was not sleepy or drugged all the time so started to enjoy life again. I got these thermomedic diabetes socks that the physio recommended and he began to find the burning in his feet was much relieved and he could walk to the shops and meet up with his friends so he was back to his old self. I just get concerned we are taking too many prescription drugs really when we should just get on with life.
