To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Looking for answers About two years ago I had surgery for a prolapsed bladder and had the mesh sling put in. This was attached to my pubic bone on either side of my inner thigh. When I woke up from surgery my left leg was in a lot of pain but the hospital kept me pretty drugged up so I didn’t notice. The next day I told the doctor there was something wrong with that leg, it was in much more pain than the other leg and I was given more drugs and told it was normal. I went home after two days and started to heal, until day 5 when I suddenly felt feverish and nausious and was in even more pain. The next morning, after a VERY long night, a friend took me to the ER and I was immediately admitted with a very low blood pressure, and a raging staph infection going on in my body. Six days of IV antibiotics and pain meds I went home, not feeling like I had any real answers to how I got this. I was so sick and in so much pain and no one would tell me why. For the next year and a half I went to the doctor that performed the surgery a ridiculous amount of times trying to figure out why I had horrible leg and hip pain now. I went through nerve block injections into the aductor muscle that were horrible, they helped for that day, maybe the next, then the pain was back. It is there no matter what I do, lay, sit, walk, it just hurts. The pain radiates down my leg to the back of my knee and ankle, starting at my hip and inner thigh area. Ironic that the pain is originating in the exact area of the surgery? I want to know if this could be from the staph infection, and do these infections cause permenant damage? I just feel like there is no answer, no conclusive tests to prove my pain, yet I live with it daily. If anyone has an opinion, I will gladly listen. Comments
