To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download neuropathy post stemcell transplant I am 26, and have hodgkins lymphoma. i was diagnosed in 2006. i have been through three types of chemo 1 month of radiation and most recently a stem cell transplant. i statred having the pains in both my hands and feet while i was in the hospital for my transplant. i would be hard to walk on my feet and my hands had limited movement. i felt like such an old lady. my doctors put me on neurotin, but it never seemed to help. they just said that the damage is because of the harsh chemo and the nerves could never recover, and become permanent. Its been 3 months since then, I have seen a neurologist and they said the same thing. I have also stopped taking the neurotin medication, though they said to increase the dosages. I just feel like I should try to go the holistic route. My body is trying to detox the two years of Pharm Chemo/radiation. Now that I have changed my diet and gone more holistic in reference to my treatment of neuropathy I still have speratic pain, but things are better. Its not completel;y gone, but at least I can sleep at night, and be mobile. I also pray alot, mayb that is helping too. to others, I would say go to conventional medicine and at least hear what they have to say, but ultimately it is your body. You can be in charge!!! Blessings to you all. Comments
