To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download living with this awful problem I am 27 years old, very young of course, and started to have serious pain problems about four years ago. They tested me for everything and found that I had bad knees. 2 years after my surgeries ( on both knees), I started to lose feeling in my legs to the point where I burnt myself on a heating pad. They finally diagnosed me with neuropathy It freaked me out because I know it is not good to have this, but I still don’t understand exactly how I got this. They say it has nothing to do with my surgeries, so if that is the case, then why do I have it? They think that I have some underlying auto-immune disease that they can’t figure out, who knows. I am stuck at the point in my life where I am depressed constantly because I cannot work. I go to school online to earn my degrees, but I am going to school to become a doctor (lifelong dream), so eventually I will have to go into a classroom. I dont know what to do. The doctors just keep shoving pain meds down my throat, and the longer I am on it the more immune I become to the meds. I dont want to end up on morphine in the next year or so, but I am following down that path. I cannot work either, and am shy 1 credit towards permanent disability. I am screwed! Anyways I was wondering how everyone that has this deals with it on a daily basis? How they manage with all the meds, and how they manage their personal lives as well? (engaged). Thanks Amber M.
