involuntary movments

by: MGA on Mon, Apr 21 2008

I am a 47 year old female, I will try and make this very short somehow. I have these involuntary movements since I have been 9 maybe yonger. I have the constant urge to bend fingers, jerk my neck, shrug shoulder, and lots of other things like touch a piece of paper with a certain finger. Very wierd things that are quite embarrasing and others in my family notice but I have no explanation. I worry that if I ever need a cast or something I would never be able to handle it because it would freak me out not being able to bend or move. Also I have to have surgery for my herniated disks that I have put of for years and its a must now or I will become paralyzed in a few years. I can’t bear the thought of being in a head brace not being able to move my nek. I am so desperate and don’t know what to do anymore. Has anyone had this condition please help with some advise.
