Living with Neurologic Issues

I’m told that I’ve been diagnosed with an upbeat nystagmus. My real problem is nausea with any type of head movement whether it’s looking up, down or twisting my head side to side, which caused severe acid reflex associated with the head movement. In addition to this my upbeat nystagmus affects my reading, balance and face recognition as I pass people by. Overall, this has severely limited my activities which is the opposite of what I used to do, such as regular exercise and play sports.

I’m 39 years old and I can barely change a light bulb without getting sick to my stomach due to the nystagmus and nausea. I’ve taken anti-vertigo (similar one’s like this), nuerontin [neurontin], baclofen, Amenda, and currently asked my nuerologist [neurologist] to give advice on what to do next.

I’ve been dealing this actively for the past 6 years and I’m nowhere near the correct treatment. The baclofen seemed to work a little, which allowed me to at least move my head around without getting sick, but it’s minimal.

It would be great if I could get a feedback from anyone that has similar disease or disorder that might be of help to me. Because of this I have been depressed, which has affected every facet of my life. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
