I’m told that I’ve been diagnosed with an upbeat nystagmus. My real problem is nausea with any type of head movement whether it’s looking up, down or twisting my head side to side, which caused severe acid reflex associated with the head movement. In addition to this my upbeat nystagmus affects my reading, balance and face recognition as I pass people by. Overall, this has severely limited my activities which is the opposite of what I used to do, such as regular exercise and play sports.

- Trisomy 18 - by Traci - (Mon, Oct 08 2007)
In October 2000 we were faced with our son being born with Trisomy 18. Yes what is it was our first question. Trisomy 18 is in the same family as downs.. but much more severe. Our son was born emergency c-section at full term weighing 3lbs 6 ounces he was quickly taken to a more advance childrens hospital which he live there in NICU for 25 days.
